FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS...
Why can your boat loader haul a heavier boat than other loaders?
Our patented design has the lowest possible center of gravity, with the trailer wheels sitting on the truck bed. Using the theory of weight versus height, the lower the weight, the more load the unit can safely haul.
Will your load and haul system work on my shortbox pick-up with a 14' boat and a travel trailer?
Yes, we have a "BACKPACKER 18" model for a shortbox pick-up that will handle up to a 15' boat and travel trailer.
Why does your load and haul system haul the boat at an angle?
By not raising the trailer wheels (to make the boat ride level) the majority of the boat weight is as low as possible to minimize tipping and swaying for the best handling and stability.
On some boat loaders, you have lift the tongue of the trailer to start the loading process, does yours work like that?
No, there is no lifting on any part of the boat or trailer to load or unload the "BACKPACKER 18." Positioning the aluminum ramps is the only lifting required.
Is it hard to take the loader off my truck so I can haul other things?
No. The aluminum loader is quick and easy to remove from your truck. It is removed in 3 pieces for easy handeling and storage by one person with a socket and wrench.
